POSITION OVERVIEW: The Learn & Play Center Staff will be responsible for assisting in planning and implementing all curriculum and program activities in the learn and play center. This individual guides the development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching and healthy environment. The individual, working as a part of the team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment. The individual will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervise and lead children in the Learn & Play Center. Help to plan, organize, and deliver activities and programs. Demonstrate and teach activities. Develop positive relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and co-workers. Help cultivate a positive culture by modeling healthy relationships and open communication. Lead the Learn & Play Center in creating a compassionate and nurturing environment. Follow program standards in regards to safety, cleanliness, and age appropriate programming and interactions. Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them. Report specific problems or needs to supervisor or designated staff person. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person. Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
