HOW A SENIOR VIDEO TELECONFERENCING (VTC) TECHNICIAN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Responsible for the integration of enterprise-wide telecommunications infrastructure including WAN, LAN, audio, and video services (Data, Voice, and Video).
Supporting different converters, and transcoding technologies that support Audio and Video (A/V) systems.
Understanding the Content Delivery Network (CDN) and the functionality associated with this architecture.
Maintaining the integrity of data and network information resources.
Maintaining an accurate inventory of A/V resources.
Creating and maintaining a timely patch management process for network information resources.
Implementing and managing video conferencing connectivity.
Experience with providing audio and video traffic analysis to include service sufficient to design A/V setups.
Experience working with local exchange carriers and vendors for livestreaming events and VoD downloading.
Understanding of network connections, Session Border Controllers (SBC) and Gateways including troubleshooting Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Quality of Service (QoS) networking.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in a computer science, information system or related field is preferred but not required
Required Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience
Required Technical Skills:
Experience supporting A/V wiring such as HDMI, SDI, Composite, XLR, MiDi, DVIi, RGB, USB, etc.
Experience with MS Windows and Linux based servers and using a Common Line Interface (CLI) to input commands
Experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory (AD) support
Understanding of Distribute Media Engine (DME) and transcoding live video streams
Experience in collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft (MS) Teams
Experience in video conferencing technologies such as telepresence and Zoom Rooms
Required Skills & Abilities:
Experience with deploying audio and video hardware and software based on the security architecture
Skill and ability evaluating hardware and software products to determine effectiveness of use with strategic design of video conferencing services
Experience with managing Incidents and supporting suppliers for legacy and new A/V equipment and connections
Working knowledge in understanding IP addressing schemes across an enterprise network
Ability in compression and caching techniques for video conferencing traffic over an IP network
Working knowledge in understanding in working with proxy, firewalls, enclaves, and DMZs for the purpose of setting up or verifying network connectivity
Working knowledge in understanding of multicast and unicast communications across an enterprise network
Skill and ability in developing and preparing appropriate metrics reports
Skill and ability in assisting with developing and improving processes, including the use of ServiceNow to automate service provisioning, as well as improving control of production operations and project activities
Security Clearance Level:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
Location:
Onsite in Raleigh, NC with a hybrid work schedule (i.e., 2 days on site, 3 days remote per week)
Candidate will work in the office 5 days a week for first 2 months, then a hybrid work schedule
