Job summary
Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for analyzing, designing, maintaining, improving, and releasing world class machinery. In collaboration with other team members, the Mechanical Engineer will implement our equipment, design standards, and related improvement projects in line with customer requirements and the ITW 80/20 philosophy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create and maintain accurate multi-level Bills of Material (BOM) and enter them into the ERP system.
Complete product configuration and data entry to drive demand for production.
Perform the design, analysis, and/or evaluation of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Prepare clear, complete, detailed, and accurate designs. Use Creo for detailed drawings.
Manage change control of components and bills of materials.
Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to develop solutions for meeting cost targets for projects.
Conduct engineering studies and partner with operations, field services, and customers to diagnose and resolve issues. Apply root cause analysis and perform cost-benefit analysis for various solutions. Design for reliability.
Apply the ITW 80/20 business processes, draw conclusions using critical information from available data, and lead projects.
Travel (10%) to suppliers and customer facilities.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
