This is a hybrid remote role and great for a recent or new graduate with degree in EE, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, etc. who has experience with Docker, Kubernetes and familiarity with Gitops/Devops and some scripting such as Perl/Python.
The Systems Integration Engineer will focus on the introduction of new applications and new functionality to Ribbon customers in a logical, efficient, and effective manner.
The candidate must be self-motivated and a quick learner with strong communication skills who is able to work well with customers. Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be driven to achieve results while maintaining the ability to effectively work with others, and be able to jump from one customer project to another within the same day. Candidates should be self-driven individuals that can work independently or as part of a team to solve problems and improve customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and test new products and new functionality in lab environments employing Ribbon and non-Ribbon components for the purpose of validating: instantiation, provisioning, software upgrades, and test automation.
Develop highly repeatable processes and have a mindset to automate everything from deploying software to mitigating system failures.
Work with key customers worldwide and with other internal teams to solve complex problems using the latest technology to ensure a successful introduction of new products and functionality.
Quickly attain and apply new skills to solve customer problems.
Preferred skills include:
Bachelors/ Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering
Knowledge/Experience on Virtualization and Cloud environments: AWS, GCP, Azure, RHV, KVM, VMWare, Openstack
Knowledge/Experience on Ansible and Terraform, including the development of playbooks/modules
Knowledge/Experience on Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge/Experience on CI/CD tools like Jenkins
Familiarity with DevOps/GitOps
Understanding of IP network architecture and concepts
Knowledge and experience with SIP protocols and concepts
Perl/Python or equivalent scripting knowledge
Excellent communication and organizational skills and possess the ability to interface with Ribbon customers and third-party vendors
