Job summary
Overview:As the Controller for CareCentrix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walgreens, you will be responsible for managing the general accounting, internal and external reporting, audit coordination and local tax compliance of the company while overseeing internal controls and other financial areas in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer and with Walgreens Health.
Willing and able to commute to the Overland Park, KS office 1 day a week.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
Be responsible for monthly financial closing of the general ledger
Be responsible for all Corporate Accounting functions including general ledger accounts payable, revenue recognition, taxes, account analysis, etc.
Provide monthly analytical reviews of company financial results. Communicate highlights of these reviews and recommendations for operational changes to increase profitability to senior management
Prepare and/or review journal entries as needed
Conducting variance analyses to budget and/or forecasts
Patriciate in preparation of budgets and / or forecasts, especially in revenue and balance sheet forecasting
Be responsible for management of both internal and external audits of internal books, records and financials serving as primary point of contact for external audit and Walgreens SOX audits
Serve as primary finance point of contact for Walgreens Internal Audits
Establish Sarbanes-Oxley process flow documentation in partnership with the Walgreens audit team.
Provide guidance, support and management on all accounting issues with regard to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ensure the development of all supporting documentation and controls for all accounts and balances in the General Ledger
Be responsible for all reporting requirements under the Credit Agreements
Be responsible for corporate insurance and surety policies and renewals
Participate in company-wide task forces and other special projects and performs related duties as required
Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or the equivalent required, plus a minimum of ten years of financial reporting. financial analysis and strategic planning experience generally required
This is a hands-on position and requires the successful applicant to be willing to pitch in on any number of jobs and/or projects.
CPA required.
Strong knowledge of FASB pronouncements, variance analysis, accounts payable, taxes, and a high level of competence with Excel, Access, and general ledger software required.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff also required.
