Job summary
The Senior Project Manager role ensures successful delivery of our ongoing Guidewire support and development program and leads the development of our Project Management Office (project portfolio management, methodologies, and project management standards).In this role you will:
* Work closely with managers and other department team members to develop the project scope, timeline, budget, etc. using Agile methodology.
* Model the behaviors of an Agile leader and help teams self-organize using Agile principles and practices to meet their delivery objectives.
* Identify and remove any /distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver against their commitments.
* Facilitate sprint planning, daily scrum, and retrospective meetings.
* Define project goals, create and implement the project plan, monitor progress, track results, make recommendations, if needed, and closes the project.
* Create flow charts and/or diagrams to outline the project plan, including defining deliverables and in what order tasks are to be completed.
* Estimate any costs associated with the project and ensures adherence to remain within budget, keeps management informed regarding project progress and uses proper procedures for payment for any necessary services or resources.
* Coordinate and motivate project team members to successful completion of the project.
* Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
* 8-10 years of experience as an information technology project manager or in a role that includes increasing responsibility for projects within the information technology field required.
* Experience performing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. Bachelors degree in computer science or closely related field preferred. No degree would require an additional 4 years of experience.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification required
Other Requirements
This position requires the physical ability to perform extensive repetitive motions in using a computer and the routine use of other office equipment. Work is typically performed while sitting and does not require heavy lifting. Must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel.
