Job summary
Overview:The Board of Directors seeks qualified candidates who are mission-driven and passionate about health access, equity, health disparities and social drivers of health (SDOH). The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, serves as the primary public-facing leader for the organization and oversees all administrative, financial, human resources, marketing, and operational functions of the GCCN. This individual is ultimately responsible for sustaining the organizations financial health, ensuring excellence in all services, and maintaining a positive culture and ability to attract and retain exceptional talent.
Guilford Adult Health (GAH), doing business as Guilford Community Care Network (GCCN), is an independent 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure equitable access to quality care. GCCN serves Guilford County residents with income between 0% - 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. GCCNs two key programs are: 1) Guilford Dental Access Program (adult dental clinic); 2) Guilford Community Care Network, a safety net which provides access to primary and specialty health care for eligible GCCN Orange Card members.
While the final candidate is employed by GCCN and reports to GCCN Board; applications will be processed through their partner organization Cone Health career site. Employee health screening, orientation and benefits will also be provided through Cone Health.
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Work with the Board of Directors to fulfill GCCNs mission and ensure strategic plan outcomes.
Provide leadership to staff and volunteers to achieve the Board-approved strategic plan.
Serve as a role model for North Carolina and Guilford County safety net programs and outcomes.
Program Planning and Development:
Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage mission-driven programs/services aligned with the Strategic Plan.
Cultivate innovative and sustainable community partnerships that support programs and services.
People Management:
Demonstrate success in building teams and managing direct reports.
Determine staffing requirements to meet current and future needs.
In compliance with human resources policies and procedures, recruit, hire, orient, and supervise employees and contract staff.
Monitor staff performance and conduct annual performance evaluations to achieve expected outcomes.
Promote a healthy and safe work environment.
Role model a positive workplace culture that demonstrates communication, accountability, trust, teamwork and collaboration.
Coach and mentor staff for additional professional development.
Lead ongoing efforts to maintain an organizational culture of respect, collaboration, belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Financial Planning and Management:
Work with financial staff to develop monthly financial statements and prepare for annual budget and audits.
Monitor monthly budget variances and if indicated, implement corrective action.
Ensure sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Revenue Generation (Grants and Fundraising):
Lead the organizations grant-writing and management program; research and seek new grant opportunities; monitor, analyze and report outcomes to funders.
Working with the Board Fund Development Committee, implement fundraising plan to ensure financial sustainability and growth in revenue sources.
Working with staff and volunteers, utilize the donor management system to ensure accurate and timely donor research, cultivation, stewardship, recognition and retention.
Actively engage in opportunities to share the organizations mission, programs and outcomes with donors.
Quality Improvement and Outcomes Management:
Implement quality and process improvement tools and techniques to achieve program outcomes, patient/client experience and satisfaction.
Develop and document business processes and practices to ensure quality outcomes are met.
Community Outreach and Advocacy:
Seek new outreach opportunities that address current/emerging community needs for health access, equity and social drivers of health.
Ensure collaborative working relationships with other safety network providers, diverse community groups, funding and local governmental partners.
Public Relations, Communications and Marketing:
As the face of GCCN, seek opportunities for public speaking to include conference presentations, media, business, civic and community-based events.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders about GCCNs mission, programs, opportunities and challenges.
Promote GCCNs brand standards.
With the Fund Development/Marketing Committee, develop targeted stakeholder communication (patients, clients, staff, volunteers, donors, funding, network and community partners) for print and social media.
General Administrative Management:
Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local requirements and guidelines, including human resources policies, procedures and practices.
Work with Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure secure data management and communication.
Ensure privacy and confidentiality of clients, patients, Board, staff, volunteers, funders and donors.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree
Preferred: Master's degree in related field
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership and program development experience
Preferred: Relevant experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or healthcare administration is a significant advantage.
