The role
G-Research is a fast-growing, data-driven organisation. We use large-scale deployments of distributed systems to drive research and monitoring capabilities within the business.
We are looking for an experienced Compute Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing our Linux-based infrastructure.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Continuously assessing and optimizing the Linux infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
Developing and maintaining our automation and tooling to streamline self-service provisioning and configuration management
Setting up monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and resolve issues
Performing root cause analysis for complex problems
Implementing and maintaining security best practices
Maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies
Developing junior members of our team in Dallas
Who are we looking for
We are seeking an experienced Compute Engineer with a strong Linux engineering background and exceptional problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Advanced problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and supporting complex systems
Extensive experience with Linux and a strong understanding of Networking fundamentals
Expert level knowledge in Python for Automation and Integration
Strong experience with CI/CD, preferably Jenkins, and Configuration Management tools, such as Ansible and Terraform
Experience with Kubernetes, OpenStack or AWS
Demonstrable experience in leading successful technical projects
