Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
What Were Looking For:
Iridium is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join our Systems Requirements & Process Management team. As a Systems Engineer, you will work autonomously, participating in system requirements analysis, decomposition and management, functional and performance analysis, system design, system integration, as well as troubleshooting of network systems, providing significant value to the team. This position will be located either at our TSC location in Chandler, AZ or our HQ location in McLean, VA.
What Youll Do:
Apply system engineering best practices and SAFe®/Agile processes for various ground an on-orbit development projects
Perform capabilities, features and requirements analysis, definition, decomposition, and management
Work with Project Systems Engineers in exercising technical authority over projects
Conduct required system analysis (functional & performance), interface definition, and detailed trade studies
Provide input for major reviews
Perform analysis that ensures system designs meet technical performance targets
Participate in modeling and simulation of new services
Build relationships with stakeholders to understand their technical needs to manage the requirements and planning of the assigned projects
Utilize critical thinking skills to support your team in applying new ideas and approaches, such as designing and developing existing and new systems

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO:
Things You Must Bring to the Table:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
2+ years of related system engineering experience for complex technical projects
Direct experience in telecommunications, ground networks, electronic products development/manufacturing, or satellites is highly desirable
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
Programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Shell scripting
Working knowledge of networking protocols, routers, switches, etc.
Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite
Masters degree in engineering, mathematics, or science
Strong knowledge of system engineering methodologies
A good understanding of tools and software applications that support system engineering best practices

Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
