Overview:Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Asset & Material Management Department and daily to the Los Alamos Facility Support Manager at Mission Support and Test Services at Los Alamos Operations (LAO) to support receiving, shipping, distribution, property control activities, excess and assist with facility needs. The reporting location will be Los Alamos New Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
LAO and Sandia Operations (SO) Property Center Representative (PCR) task include; maintain custodian assignment, accurate locations, Sensitive Receipts, closing open requests, etc.
Schedules and conducts property inventories of Sensitive, Equipment, and High Risk.
Prepares shipping documents for hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with DOT regulations including use of forklift and all related forklift maintenance as well as oversight of alternate forklift operator. Maintain lifting and rigging equipment.
Barcode tagging and marking of U.S. Govt Property.
Perform Warehouse Operations function tasks of receiving, distribution and shipping activities.
Assist with day-to-day Asset and Material Management functions and resolve property issues.
Responsible for tracking and ensuring property assigned to terminating employees is reassigned in a timely manner.
Participates and assist with the Property Management Walk-through Program.
Coordinates disposal of excess property and material through NNSS, LANL, or local recycling.
Supports various Supply Chain, Asset & Material Management for LAO & SO activities as directed by management.
Provide oversight to the Sandia Operations PCR, including periodic trips to the Sandia Office.
LAO and SO Chemical Program Custodian task include; online chemical inventory and maintaining SDS.
LAO and SO Gas Coordinator task include; maintaining PO agreement with LANL, processing compresses gas, liquid nitrogen and potable alcohol requests, and store according to regulations.
LAO and SO GSA Vehicle Coordinator.
Coordinate large item moves that require special material handling equipment.
Support LAO Security, Facility Maintenance, snow removal and associated equipment, and Safety Programs.
EAT Member.
AHJ Field Representative for inspecting inbound electrical items.
Leads and participates in continuous improvement projects.
Implement Best Practices for operations.
Perform related work as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent training and experience with at least 2 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to interface both internally and externally at all levels of staff and management including DOE/NNSA customers effectively.
Strong behavior skills with customer focus, service leadership, mentorship, continuous improvement, sense of urgency, learning, effective communication, integrative thinking, and expertise.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Ability to plan and coordinate deliverables to meet deadlines and solve complex issues.
Proficient knowledge of business practices to supervise operations.
Must be able to lead teams and foster team work within the department.
Strong computer skills with software applications such as Sunflower Assets, MS Office Products and skills to administer computer systems.
Ability to execute work, problem solve and monitor/measure employee performance.
Ability to develop reports, metrics and performance documents.
Ability to resolve and provide input to corrective actions resulting from audits, independent and management assessments and tracking the corrections to completion.
Implement and maintain current written policies, procedures and standards of conduct for the Asset & Material Management organization.
Demonstrated skill to establish and maintain strong and effective customer relationships, and anticipate change and adjust promptly and effectively.
Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with policies, procedures, government laws, rules and regulations, or standards.
The primary work location will be at the Los Alamos Operations located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Work schedule for this position will be 4/10s, Monday Thursday (subject to change).
Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference , Personnel Security. Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in , Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites, will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Annual salary range for this position is: $62,358.40 - $93,537.60.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
