Job summary
The pay rate for this part-time position is $18/ hr based on experience and geographic location.This position falls under the U.S. Department of Labor Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to hourly pay, a Health and Welfare stipend of $4.80 per hour will be provided for up to 40 hours per week.
You are also eligible to receive pay for up to 10 holidays and annual vacation time payout, as well as access to an employee discount program.
Travel time and mileage is fully reimbursable.

Listers are responsible for:
Collecting confidential information
Independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings
Transmitting data as scheduled
Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project issued equipment
Safeguarding any issued equipment or project materials against damage, loss, or theft
Submitting timely and accurate Time and Expense reports
Attending virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team
Listing addresses electronically (procedure to identify the sample for data collection) on a tablet (provided by RTI), in selected areas
Traveling to selected areas within the area using a tablet and electronic map
Accurately identifying and recording address and location information on a tablet about each potential dwelling unit
Editing completed work, and reporting the results of all activities
Successfully completing all components of training, including online courses and attendance at a virtual training
RTI International is seeking part-time field listers on the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). This important study provides field support for survey research projects conducted by RTI.
The Electronic Field Mapping Listers are assigned to prepare for and conduct listing operations according to project protocols. Listers ensure that field activities are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner, that the information recorded is of the highest possible quality, and that all activities are conducted in a professional manner following established procedures.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old at time of employment
Must possess High School Diploma or GED
Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
Available for entire training and data collection period
Able to successfully complete training
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment
Access to password protected WiFI connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities
Able to keep project information confidential
Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark
Able to accommodate work schedule to include weekdays and weekends during daytime hours
Previous experience working on NSDUH as a Lister
Preferred Qualifications for Ideal Candidates:
Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoys interacting with people from culturally diverse backgrounds
Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines
Computer skills, namely email and internet proficiency
Able to read and follow electronic maps
Must have a computer or laptop for completing online training and regularly checking RTI email for project communications
Available for short travel trips
Able to travel overnight, if required
The data collection period is expected to be May 2024 through November 2024
On average, you will be needed part-time approximately 20-25 hours per week when work is available
On average, you should be available to work in the field 3-4 days each week
The majority of this work is anticipated to be during week days during daytime hours
Each of your trips to the field are expected to be at least 6 hours long
Field Interviewers are required to complete trainings which include:
Complete pre-training consisting of on-line training courses (6 hours)
Attend a 2-day virtual live training to be held either May 23-24, 2024 or May 30-31, 2024 (3 hours per training day) Veteran listers are not required to attend virtual May training dates
Successfully pass project required trainings
Attendance at all trainings are mandatory
Additional trainings to be held in June 2024, as needed
