Position Description
The IT Infrastructure Architect specializes in designing and establishing information systems to optimize business procedures and company operations, enabling Refresco with a Secure, Available and Resilient Infrastructure providing a suitable platform and consistent technology experience. Performing research and assessments to identify Refrescos needs, evaluate existing systems to determine its strengths and weaknesses, and present recommendations to senior leadership. Spearhead the integration and innovation of systems and technologies, all while adhering to the company's policies and regulations, including its vision and mission.
This role is highly technical and requires in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of IT Infrastructure and Resiliency Services, including Infrastructure Strategy and Architecture around Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Cloud, Backup and Storage Solutions, Availability, Performance, Interoperability, Optimization, Security, and Compliance.
Essential Functions:
Develops and achieves discipline strategy in alignment with functional goals and key business objectives. Collaborates with experts within function to integrate technical objectives into activities associated with accelerated development of new/improved products or technology.
Advances technical expertise within function. Proactively demonstrates leadership by advising and sharing knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers, and senior management. Mentors and trains functional colleagues and assess current and emerging business challenges enabling functional goal achievement.
Ensures quality and effectiveness of major project plans within function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.
Sources and identifies emerging scientific and technological trends from multiple internal and external sources and assess relevance. Integrates trends into functional short-term objectives. Advances crossdiscipline technology and direction through generation of data.
Applies imagination and innovation by creating, inventing, and implementing new or better approaches, alternatives and breakthrough ideas that are valued by customers within the function.
Engages with key stakeholders, industry experts, and technical peers to understand technology and business requirements, industry trends and the broader architecture landscape. Using this information, develops and maintains the technical architecture direction and roadmap for compute and virtualization solutions across traditional and cloud environments. Oversees and directs architectural discussions for both a technical and management audience.
Maintains a strong understanding of the current landscape and proactively leads the analysis of the current technology environment to detect deficiencies, gaps, and opportunities. Works with leadership to prioritize, initiate and implement technology efforts aimed at addressing these opportunities.
Provides oversight on the architecture and design of systems comprised of multiple solutions and services across multiple lines of business
Actively contributes to a culture of knowledge sharing through informal (i.e., mentoring less experienced team members) and formal channels (i.e., presentations, communities of practice, etc.
Recommends technology investments based on a strong understanding of industry trends and business needs. Develops safe and effective approaches to adopt or migrate to these technologies.
Leverages strong software engineering skills to lead automation efforts across the area. Drives improvements on key compute and virtualization KPIs through these efforts.
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent work experience is acceptable.
15+ Years experience with IT Infrastructure and Data Center Engineering and Operations.
Advanced certification in converged infrastructure (Dell, Cisco, HP, Cloud) is a plus.
Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them.
Experience working at the enterprise level and developing and implementing enterprise strategies and architectures in complex environments.
Proven track record of driving business performance through the successful implementation of innovative technical solutions.
Ability to operate at multiple levels of technical detail from the architecture blueprint level to the discrete implementation level.
Leadership ability with a proven record of successfully driving change, setting priorities, driving performance, and executing plans on schedule.
Experience achieving and maintaining compliance in regulated environments (e.g. SOX, PCI). Adept at addressing and remediating gaps found in internal, security, and compliance audits.
Demonstrated contributions to improving infrastructure service availability through design and implementation of resilient architectures, reliable maintenance practices, and accelerating incident triage and service restoration.
Well versed in ITIL practices and current technology protocols and standards, with an understanding of technology, process, and metrics. Additional certifications or immersive understanding of industry-standard architectural frameworks (TOGAF or SAFe) is a plus.
Proven ability to balance growth initiatives and daily operational efforts across the same resource teams.
Proven ability to engage and drive incident resolution through a calm, decisive, and expedited manner.
Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Team player who recognizes their contributions within the PODS ecosystem and creates partnerships that multiply each teams contributions.
Ability to maintain a detail-oriented approach while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
