Overview:Hayward Holdings Inc. This position is based in Kingstown, RI.
The North Kingstown RI facility specifically manufactures lights, chlorinators, controls, and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) which get shipped intercompany, to distribution, or direct to customers.
The Hazard Communication Program Improvement Intern will partner with Haywards Site Safety Coordinator and department leads in projects to update and digitize the site Chemical Hazard Communication Program and Personal Protective Equipment Assessments for Hayward North Kingstown Rhode Islands manufacturing and engineering operations.

Responsibilities:
Chemical Hazard Communication Program
Work with department leads in updating the site chemical inventory
Assist the Site Safety Coordinator in launching a new third party electronic Chemical Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management system
Upload current chemical SDSs for all inventoried products into the new database
Update hard copy chemical inventory and SDS binders
Assist the Site Safety Coordinator in archiving previous SDSs
Assist the Site Safety Coordinator in developing and delivering training on the new SDS system
Personal Protective Equipment Assessments
Work with the Site Safety Coordinator and department leads in updating personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments for manufacturing, warehouse and engineering operations
Assist with creation and communication of visual PPE guides
Qualifications:
Rising junior or senior pursuing Bachelors degree in industrial health & safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science or related programs
Working knowledge of MS Office programs
Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with all employee levels, from hourly production to management
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Must have transportation to and from internship
