Job summary
Hydraquip is looking for a candidate who wants to take the next step in their technical career to join our 100% employee-owned company. Hydraquip has four divisions: electric systems, fluid power, service & repair, and fluid conveyance. With offices in Houston, Memphis, San Antonio, Dallas, Tulsa, Denver, and Lafayette, Hydraquip has a broad footprint with many opportunities for growth within the company.The Drafter - Level 1 is responsible for producing drawings to support engineering and operations. This may consist of producing drawings for parts, assemblies, and other fabrications.
Specific responsibilities and authorities may include:
Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software or manual drafting methods.
Work closely with engineers, electrical designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and incorporate design changes.
Ensure that all drawings adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Assist in selecting appropriate electrical components, wiring, and equipment for projects.
Maintain and update electrical drawings as needed to reflect any changes or modifications during the project's lifecycle.
Review and verify the accuracy of drawings to minimize errors and ensure that electrical systems are designed correctly.
Provide technical support to other departments, contractors, and field personnel during the installation and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Keep records of all drawings and documentation, making them easily accessible for future reference.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Certificate of Proficiency in Drafting.
AutoCAD course completion.
Proficient within AutoCAD and SolidWorks
EXPERIENCE
5+ years of drafting or design experience.
Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Strong Mechanical inclination.
Able to read and understand electrical/mechanical schematics.
Ability to visualize isometric views and drawing projections.
Ability to read drawings and fully comprehend content thereof.
Aptitude and attitude to continue learning and developing design knowledge, including the ability to adapt to new software releases.
Ability to pursue, plan, and organize assigned task based on prioritizing decision by Director of Special
Projects & Engineering.
Aptitude and attitude to communicate with Supervisor and engineers/clients in order to execute assigned task with efficiency.
Willing to consider and apply new ideas while using standards and procedures applicable to area of responsibility under supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
