Description:JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, directs, manages, coordinates and monitors operations, services, and staff of Partial Hospitalization Program (Psych).
Develops and implements strategic goals, and objectives to maintain high quality treatment program. Assists with survey compliance of the JCAHO.
Serves as resource for other Hospital departments needing outpatient psychiatric continuum of care.
Maintains referral development relationships with area community agencies, assisted Living facilities and other healthcare entities.
Performs other related duties as required. Responsible for overall daily operations of program services.
Analyzes departmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints.
Establishes. Revises, administers and communicates therapy/counseling services, policies, procedures and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards.
Manages staff and employee performance. Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff.
Provides ongoing performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
Consults on disciplinary, termination and salary actions. Monitors and directs workflow.
Coordinates insurance verification process for maximum reimbursement potential.
Oversees charge entry process for daily billing. Initiates telephone consults with insurance companies when required.
Develops Medicare appeal action when reimbursement denied on clinical basis.
Completes quality assurance reviews of charts and treatment status evaluations in the form of reviews, to determine if continued stay criteria are met.
Assists mental health therapists with group, individual and family counseling sessions, in addition to offering suggestions for growth to therapists. Address deficiencies in the clinical performance of staff or program outcomes, as necessary.
Provide crisis intervention services, when necessary, to clients attending program.
Resolves complaints, grievances and other issues affecting operations.
Administers a quality improvement program; monitors and evaluates quality improvement/productivity to meet regulatory and legal standards governing rehabilitation services.
Oversees coordination of daily transportation of clients attending program.
Monitors department's, operations, and personnel budgets; regularly reviews year to date expenditures; and takes corrective action as necessary.
Reviews financial and operational reports and analyses reflecting progress and trends; makes recommendations or provides conclusions. In compliance with applicable regulations.
Represents the organization to the community; speaks at seminars and conferences.
Establishes and maintains a professional network within the community to promote an awareness of services provided and to facilitate referrals.
Maintains open and respectful communications with other hospital staff.
Serves as a resource within the hospital for issues and communications related to outpatient care.
Assesses staff needs to develop appropriate in-service training sessions.
Works with leader to formulate plan for professional development. A
ttends educational in-services as appropriate.
Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Fully Licensed, Masters Level Counselor or Social Worker (LPC or LCSW).
Three years experience in an outpatient behavioral health program. Progressive lead counselor/social work experience.
