Executive Summary: Software Engineer InternshipThe Internet of Things starts with Things. In support of our growth as a leading IoT Solutions Innovator, Mesh Systems seeks to hire Software Engineer Interns to join our team for the Summer of 2024. We are looking for undergraduates only. In this role, you will have the opportunity to explore DevOps and Cloud/Mobile practices whilst being a contributing member of one or more of our cohesive IoT solutions teams working in a modern Agile environment. You and your colleagues will design, develop, test, document, and deliver software components as a critical part of end-to-end IoT Solutions. This is a full-time, hourly position (~$15/hour) based in either Carmel, IN or Appleton, WI. The position will report directly to the associated Practice Lead.
(Contingent on chosen development path devops/cloud/mobile.)
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate on the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Contribute on Embedded (C or C++), Cloud (Azure/.NET), or Mobile (Xamarin/Maui) Development
Maintain and improve system processes, documentation, and platform engineering
Work in a highly collaborative team utilizing cutting-edge IoT technology and Agile methodologies
Requirements
Currently enrolled and pursuing a BS in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of C# solving application problems
Demonstrated knowledge of Object-Oriented Principles (such as with C++, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and YAML
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure technologies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving technological industry
Interesting Capabilities
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience working with large language models (LLMs) including those provided by OpenAI and Azure OpenAI services. Familiarity with GPT-3 or GPT-4, and the ability to leverage these models for various applications.
