Job Title: Cashier Department: Store Operations Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt R.P. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers as they enter the store Provides customers with information and resolves opportunities by utilizing appropriate resources Understands all register and cash handling procedures Efficiently and accurately processes all customer transactions in a friendly manner Ensure that the frontend of the store is neat, clean, and organized Present merchandise that is accurately priced and fronted Foster a safe and productive work environment for associates and customers Diligent in protecting company assets Follow all SOP guidelines and company policies Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Must be 16 years of age or over Must have general math skills Basic Computer Knowledge Reading, Comprehension and Writing Skills Preferred Qualifications High school Diploma or equivalent Previous retail experience Personality and Relational Skills Expresses a desire for learning and growth Builds relationships with a variety of personality types Communicates clearly through speech and writing Always demonstrates a professional attitude with customers and co-workers, including during high pressure situations Pays close attention to details and learns from mistakes Seeks out work to be done and does not wait for work to be assigned Solves problems with minimal supervision Identifies and makes suggestions to improve processes Customer Service focused Performs as a team player Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The position does require frequent lifting of merchandise. It is expected that the employee lift safely, using proper body mechanics and lifting devices. When lifting heavy items, up to 50 pounds, a team lift may be required.
