BASIC PURPOSE:
This individual is expected to provide technical assistance to computer users, answer complex technology questions, and resolve computer problems for clients in person or via telephone if from remote locations. They are to provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and peripherals as well as client-based software, and to assist less experienced team members with technical guidance as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains and repairs equipment trouble shooting, repairing or replacing components, adjusting settings as needed, and testing within the companys network to ensure satisfactory operation.
2. Configures and installs computer and peripheral equipment such as desktop computers, laptop computers, printers, basic tele-communications equipment, and installs client software.
3. Uses test equipment, tools, supplies and materials that are standard for desktop support personnel.
4. Confers with senior management in the resolution of procedural or technical matters.
5. Provides technical support to staff as needed in the use of client computer systems.
6. Assists staff in understanding fundamental operation of computers and peripheral equipment.
7. Complies with work schedule and attendance requirements according to reasonable policy and practices.
8. Reads trade magazines and attends computer trade shows to obtain current information about technology trends.
OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Travel to remote locations to perform essential functions as required.
2. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends and to be available on short notice to resolve problems at regional locations.
3. Must be capable of working with frequent interruptions.
4. All other duties as assigned.
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience of candidate.
Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination required.
1. Completion of a two year technical school or two years of college or university credits in computer system / technology.
2. Advanced knowledge of current computing practices, standards and equipment.
3.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft client tools (including but not limited to Office, Outlook, and Skype), as well as general networking & desktop support products
4. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong technical writing skills.
5. Must have the ability to manage daily work with a high degree of independence.
6. Excellent organizational skills are required, and will be used to coordinate and schedule support services, support documentation, and computer support across all the organization.
7. At least two years of work experience in the area of desktop support across multiple operating systems as well as networking, telecommunications and client software support.
8. At least two years of experience in working with computers, networking equipment & printers.
9. Must demonstrate the ability to remain positive when encountering adverse situations that may arise during troubleshooting delivery.
