Job summary
Responsibilities:Peraton is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist to provide support for our premier program - NASA Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, based in Greenbelt, MD. This position will be primarily locally remote, with some travel to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and other NASA locations as needed, and will require a person who is within a commutable distance locally.
As prime contractor on the SENSE program, Peraton is responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASAs worldwide satellite communication networks. In this position, you will become part of Peratons program supporting NASAs return to the moon, as we support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world-class dynamic, team-based development environment, that ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements.
In this role, you will serve as an advisor and consultant to the SENSE Program on all aspects of workforce development and evolution and will provide direction and advisory services to all SENSE leadership and key stakeholders concerning significant programs and policies. You will plan, direct, and execute workforce development initiatives as assigned.
Your responsibilities will include:
Plans, designs, develops, and administers talent management and workforce development policies, programs, and procedures.
Partners with business operations, Senior Managers, and Program Director to ensure a complete understanding of business needs / objectives and resolve Talent Management / Workforce Development (TM/WD) issues.
Develop and maintain formal Succession Plans ensuring knowledge transfer.
Create and maintain role-based Onboarding Curriculum across the program.
Maintain the training tools and provide training metrics.
Identify and prioritize training content per program needs and oversee their development, including certification and recertification training, and in-house vs. vendor training options.
Establish and maintain a Mentorship program ensuring knowledge transfer and supporting new team members.
Continuous Skills Gap Analysis analyze current skills gaps and plan for future skill requirements.
Workforce Evolution Studies, (such as determination of remote work opportunities and risks).
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
BS/BA and 8+ years of related experience; without a degree, additional related experience and training may be considered.
5+ years of experience providing workforce development functions in a professional environment; experience with federal contracts is strongly preferred.
Experience providing advisory and consultative guidance to management on all related workforce management issues.
Demonstrated ability to establish effective partnerships within and outside of the organization.
Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
Ability to obtain a government Public Trust and Secret security clearance, if required by the program, which will require a US citizen.
Desired Experience
Experience with NASA programs, or an aerospace engineering environment.
Experience overseeing development of training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer programs.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of customer, leadership, and mission partners.
Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations.

Target Salary Range:
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
