Job summary
Our daycare team is seeking a compassionate, reliable, experienced Daycare Teacher to join our fun and energetic childcare facility. In this role, you will see to the children's basic needs, provide an enriching learning environment, and create a safe, compassionate "home-away-from home" for our little ones. To succeed in this position, you should be patient, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, with a passion for child development and care. Our facility is small but might so strong teamwork skills are a must. Duties and Responsibilities Provide responsible care for children Treat all children with care and compassion Uphold all safety standards Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly classroom Maintain a professional attitude, respecting family privacy at all times Provide a positive meal time for the children while encourage them to try new things Assist with coordinating enriching educational activities Lead songs and learning exercises Provide structure and accountability in a compassionate fashion Help children with toileting/diaper changes as needed Engage with the children in educational, age-appropriate activities Encourage children to participate in all activities Help children learn to be "helpers" in the classroom, as appropriate Contact parents as needed to address challenges Remain in constant contact with families of children and provide updates on the child's day at pick up. Provide many opportunities for children to learn and develop age-appropriate skills Complete cleaning tasks to ensure the classroom is sanitized. Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with Federal, State, and County statutes. Requirements and Qualifications 18 years of age or older 6 months of child care experience and: High school diploma or GED; or At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least 6 credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field; or N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential Current Food Handler's, CPR and First Aid certifications required Obtain and maintain AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance card Current Tuberculosis test required Certification in early childcare or degree in childhood development preferred Minimum 2 years' experience working in a professional childcare setting Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times Excellent listening skills and an engaging demeanor Solid working knowledge of childhood development Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must Fun and enthusiastic attitude Willing to sing, dance, and "be silly" with the children Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and standing Must be able to lift children weighing up to 30 lbs regularly · Exposure to a variety of childhood conditions and elements common with a childcare facility. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test Excellent communication skills Work and cooperate as part of a team EOE
