The YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and patient Associate whose greatest passion is to see kids learn and grow, to join our team. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are looking for associates to work full time in dual roles within our organization. In this position you will work part of your hours as a Before & After School Counselor and part of your hours as a Member Service Representative. As a Before & After School Counselor you will give leadership, direction, and supervision to children in the Before & After School program. The B&A Counselor will work closely with the Site Director in conducting daily duties such as writing daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play and creating a safe environment. To be successful as a B&A Counselor, you must possess a passion for children and exercise patience with them. You should display a friendly and positive attitude and greet parents and children by their name. Ultimately, you should constantly monitor and supervise the children in your care to ensure their safety. The Members Service Representative (MSR) will be responsible for greeting members and visitors to our facilities. You will answer questions for members and visitors, directing them to various parts of the facility and answering phones. The MSR will possess extensive knowledge of membership and program options as well as specific center information. The MSR will be responsible for regulating traffic in the centers as well as upholding and effectively communicating facility policies and procedures. SHIFTS: Locations and Hours will be discussed during the interview BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL COUNSELOR/MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age of 18 460 Hours verifiable* experience with school age children Passionate about working with children and teaching young minds An ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident, and respectful manner *Verifiable and Satisfactory experience includes experience in the care and supervision of four or more children from the ages of four (4)-eighteen (18) years old, unrelated to the individual, since attaining the age of eighteen (18). BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL COUNSELOR/MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: Before and After School Counselor Providing a safe, nurturing, yet fun environment for children. Modeling good character and hygiene habits and encouraging children to follow them. Providing positive reinforcement, but also being firm when necessary. Monitoring and supervising the children constantly. Assisting the Site Director in maintaining a safe and positive environment. Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians. Assist Site Directors with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment. Help Site Directors to create lesson plans. Membership Service Representative Greet members and visitors Answer all the customers' questions and address their complaints in a timely and professional manner Answer all incoming calls, redirect them when needed Assist in selling memberships and programs by proactively engaging in conversations on the benefits of YMCA memberships and programs. Accurately process new memberships and program registrations Collaborate with all center staff to ensure service excellence and timely follow-up to all member questions and /or complaints. Meet and exceed membership satisfaction and retention goals. Practice strong fiscal stewardship for execution of membership and financial policies and procedures of the association. Respond to emergency situations by adhering to the safety policies and procedures set for the association. Consistently deliver excellence in member service and member engagement.
