Job summary

Behavior Consultants may be eligible for a $500 new hire incentive bonus if hired and meet all qualifications.Position Summary: The Behavior Consultant works with the collaboration of a treatment team which may include a Mobile Therapist, Behavior Health Technician, teachers, vocational training counselors, medical providers and especially family members. Parent education and support is essential. Services are available in Allegheny, Butler, and Beaver counties.
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) provide behavioral health treatment to children up to age 21 who have a current DSM or ICD mental health diagnosis and require behavioral support. The services use professional staff and natural supports to create a network of support around an identified child and their family. Services can be rendered in a childs home, community or school location dependent upon the child and familys needs.
Services include utilizing expertise to help families in implementing an individual treatment plan (ITP) developed by the lead clinician and based on their goals and objectives. The use of community resources to achieve maximum improvement in the childs functioning with minimum disruption to the family unit is key.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Individuals who provide individual services as Behavior Consultant Licensed shall meet the following:
+ Licensed psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner, or other professional whose scope of practice includes oversight of ABA services.
2. Must have access to the audio / visual / verbal technology to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions
3. Must possess the emotional competence to perform essential job functions
4. Ability to work as a team member
5. Ability to accept and provide supervision
6. Ability to adjust hours to job requirements
7. Ability to work independently
8. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
9. Must possess valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
10. Must be eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Arrest / Conviction Report and Certification Form, and Act 168 forms.
11. Must be able to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agencys core values.

POSITION SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:
1. Develop behavior modification programs for each assigned child.
2. Conduct psychosocial and behavioral assessments and report to team members.
3. Act as a consultant with team members involved with service provision for client.
4. Participate in program development and required trainings and workshops as requested.
5. Instruct and support parents in implementing behavior modification programs, including empathic responses and logical consequences.
6. Provide oversight and training to BHT as needed regarding delivery of services.
7. Must meet agency productivity standards.
