Project Engineer
SUMMARY:
Responsible to lead a team of structural/mechanical engineers and designers in developing, designing, and delivering bulk material handling equipment. Direct contact with clients and vendors is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Leads a team of structural/mechanical engineers and designers to develop an innovative, high quality solution.
Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
Oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project.
Assists in developing and maintaining a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
Reviews expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
Coordinates with vendors and other disciplines for consistency in the design.
Prepares technical specifications.
Mentors junior engineers in the business, business practices, and position requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree (Structural or Mechanical) in Engineering from a four-year college or university and five or more years related experience
Preferred Education/Experience:
Masters Degree Desired, not Required; PE License
Knowledge of mining and /or bulk material handling industries
Computer Skills/Experience:
Drawing Software: 2D & 3D using AutoCad required. Other 3D design software, such as e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, Advance Steel desired, but not essential
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indirectly oversees employees assigned to projects in conjunction with engineering management team.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus with an emphasis on ability to view a computer screen for long periods, with periodic breaks. Travel may be required for various projects both nationally and internationally.
