Job Description
Claim Consultants are responsible for providing and/or assisting Aons Claim Closure Services (ACCS) Practice in the delivery of quality consulting services to clients. To work independently as well as in a team atmosphere and participate in all delivery phases of ACCS that are assigned to this position.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing claim activity based upon industry best practices and assessing compliance of best practices as it pertains to the handling of WC claims
Understanding current claim status and developing appropriate and aggressive strategies on legacy claims (older than 12 months) to either bring claim to resolution or to minimize costs
Monitoring adjuster activity to ensure strategies are executed upon
Evaluating reserve and settlement exposure
Reviewing appropriateness of legal strategies
Additional Details
Candidates for the Claim Consultant role will meet the following requirements:
At least three full years of adjusting Workers Compensation lost-time and litigated claims.
Well-versed in lost-time claims, to include high-dollar settlement negotiations, litigation strategy, and MSAs
Look for someone with minimum 3 years of exp
Not looking for lower level candidates who takes workman comp calls
Candidate would be directly dealing with legal entities and defense counsel etc.
Someone who does higher level claims evaluations
The experience required is with WC claims that are for time lost and litigated claims those that have gone through the litigation process. These are more complex claims. They are only workmans compensation claims, not the medical billing experience or medical workmans comp claims side that are mostly automated, these are complex claims, they need to have experience working with defense council, etc. No auto, life, catastrophic, homeowners, property and casualty, medical billing, etc. only workmans comp claims for time lost that have been litigated/gone through litigation. These are claims that are over 12 months old in most cases and they are working on assisting in bringing to resolution.
