What will you be responsible for?
The Country Compliance Manager is responsible for promoting integrity and compliance in all aspects of operations, projects and interactions with commercial partners, community members and government officials in Canada and US.

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
* We promote compliance with Newmonts Code of Conduct, policies and standards at the sites, including but not limited the Anti-Corruption Standard, Gifts and Entertainment Standard, Conflicts of Interest (COI) Standard, U.S. Export Compliance Standard and all associated regional and site-based requirements;
* We develop and maintain relationships and communication with key internal partners including General Managers, Site Leadership Teams, Regional Leadership Team, the Sustainability & External Relations team and the Legal team to continue to drive a culture of integrity and compliance; develop ethics and compliance outreach strategies and materials for sites to provide awareness of relevant issues and requirements;
* We facilitate continued integration of local Business Integrity & Compliance (BI&C) program into Corporate BI&C program by developing and implementing programmatic activities, aligning regional standards and guidelines; and provide input on corporate standards and policies as appropriate;
* We evaluate proposed gifts, payments, travel reimbursement or compensation, per diem and honorarium payments for government officials and traditional authorities
* We lead Third Party Due Diligence and Monitoring and related clearance and training activities; handle COI clearance process; and support data analytics and regional metrics;
* We develop, conduct and supervise training activities (online, high risk and onboarding) of site personnel, contractors, vendors, community members and government officials on ethics and compliance issues;
* We assist and conduct ethics and compliance investigations and audits at site and assist the Legal team with investigations and audits; and
* We represent BI&C on internal committees (Community Investment Committee, contracts, etc.) and in external compliance activities.

Here is what we would need to see from you!
Knowledge:
Bachelors Degree in related field.
Must have working understanding of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Canadian Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act, the U.K. Bribery Act, and other compliance rules and regulations.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of business experience or its equivalent taking care of operational issues in a multinational context.
A compliance, auditing or legal background and experience is helpful.
Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy validated experience is helpful.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
Project management experience strongly preferred
Must not be adverse to conflict and must be able to say no and escalate issues promptly
Strong compliance systems knowledge and experience Third Party Due Diligence platforms, Helpline and Case Management tools, COI disclosure platforms, etc
Strong skills in MS Office
Foreign language proficiency (e.g. French) desirable
Working Conditions and location
Where you will be located!
The position is located at Corporate - Denver Colorado but may require travel up to 40% to sites in Canada, other sites in US and internationally if needed.
The salary range offered for this role is $127,360.00 to 167,160.00. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
The salary offer will not be based on a candidates salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the companys performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
