Senior Consultant Engineer
Responsibilities:
Ensure all hazards are properly identified at client locations to protect the assets of FM Global and the associated client. Responsible for service area encompassing Ventura, Kern and LA counties. Conduct on site loss prevention evaluations to identify all reasonably forseeable physical and human element exposures for F&EC, B&M and DIC perils. Accurately quantify exposures at client locations to assure that the Account Team places an appropriate level of attention on the exposure. Assure the operational functionality of protective equipment at client locations to maximize the opportunity for loss mitigation. Obtain local client understanding and agreement on the hazards/exposures discovered and their potential business impact. Manage changes at client locations, including physical changes and human element changes, to prevent associated exposures. Provide timely, high quality plan review services in order to ensure that proper loss prevention considerations are achieved at the design stage. Achieve practical, effective on-site risk improvement at client locations. Illustrate the value-added differential of FM Global engineering capabilities. Accurately communicate the risk and associated data.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science's degree in Engineering (any field), Applied Science or related field of study, and 4 years of field experience with fire protection, natural hazards, construction, and other common loss prevention elements. Experience specified must include 4 years of experience with each of the following: Business Interruption and Continuity Planning; Flammable Liquids and Combustible Dust Hazard Evaluation; Fire Sprinkler Protection Systems: evaluating inspection, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler, fire pump, and underground piping networks; Construction: evaluating combustibility and structural design of buildings to determine fire and seismic capabilities; Natural Hazards Loss Analysis: evaluating properties for flood, wind, wildfire, and earthquake exposure and quantifying associated business risks; and evaluating facility Loss Prevention Programs.
Requires 50% domestic travel to client sites. Telecommunicating permitted. Must reside in the service area in Ventura, Kern or LA county.
