Overview:St. Lukes Health System in Twin Falls, ID is seeking a part time Clinical Educator to join our Laboratory Educator team.
Schedule: 0.5 FTE (40 hours per pay period) Monday - Friday, varied days.
Unit/Position Summary
The Clinical Educator provides education focused at the point of where care is delivered; responsible for clinical Laboratory and phlebtomy educational programs and processes in assigned areas (excludes Clinical Nursing roles).

Responsibilities
Practice transitions: For assigned areas, may manage and/or oversee the competency process in collaboration with clinical leaders, manages orientation process to align with system standard, ensures preceptor competence, and ensures successful transition of new graduate nurses to practice in assigned areas. Coaches clinical staff to ensure practice meets system standards.
Evidence based practice champion: Provides evidence based clinical education and evaluation related to practice changes to clinical staff and facilitates evidence-based quality improvement projects and research within a specialized area.
Leader and Change agent: Implements new policies and protocols in collaboration with clinical leaders. Develops and implements education focused on quality data. May partner with system educators to implement education and competencies based on new initiatives.
Facilitator of learning: Teaches unit, site, and system classes. Facilitates simulations. Supports clinical leaders to provide communication to staff regarding policy, protocol, and practice changes. Supports individual and team competence.
Ensures regulatory readiness for responsibilities of the role.
Mentor of clinical staff as well as new educators.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Experience: 2 years of additional relevant experience.
