Job summary
HII Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.HII MDIS is currently seeking a Senior System Architect to work out of their Huntsville, AL office.
Duties and Responsibilities
(to include but not be limited to the following) :
* Senior System Architect needs to understand an organizations current server and network architectures, standards, future technology plans thoroughly, and recommend emerging trends for both hardware and software infrastructure according to their research.
* The Senior SA needs to be able to analyze and provide reviews on the magnitude of shortcomings and shortages in information systems, approaches to mitigate risks, resolve security alerts, and preempt possible adverse outcomes of identified weaknesses. Architects help teams in making them use technology appropriately. They make suggestions to clients by providing them with an IT strategy and a vision for implementing enterprise architecture services.
* Included in architects responsibilities are diagnosing production problems and providing technical, strategic and procedural support to their organizations. They also assist in resolution implementation.
Must be experienced in CISCO VoIP technologies and CISCO 7K switch configuration and operation.
* Moreover, they provide direction to activities and assess system designs to ensure that solutions will perform satisfactorily regarding security, maintainability, and scalability.
* Finally, they help in preparing white papers and in providing technology and product analysis.
* Architects should know scripting languages, such as Python, CISCO TCL, PowerShell, and Bash. They should be well-aware of application layer protocols, such as TCP/IP, UDP HTTP/S, and Web Sockets. Architects need to have experience designing and implementing complex solutions in cloud apps, such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
Must understand SD-WAN technology and high-availability environment.
* Architects should be able to work within a project management structure. They provide assistance and monitoring for all activities of information systems operations, such as computer and telecommunications operations, system security policy procedures, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, data control, operating systems programming, and operations
* Architects need to diagnose new and existing software/hardware products and provide quality assurance review for them. They are responsible for managing the purchase, testing, implementation, and supporting network communications.
* Architects work with vendors to see to it that that the computer system platform is providing adequate computing resources to provide the level of business performance that their organization require. They provide consulting and training to clients on the design and use of information technology architecture and network systems.
* Architects plans, explore in detail, assess, and recommend network equipment for new operational storage area and related technologies. They develop and implement plans for network related hardware interruptions in cases which may be a one-off or a major outage.
* Architects are knowledgeable about network monitoring devices, such as SolarWinds, or other such monitoring tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required
* Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or other related technical disciplines. Experience (8 years) can be substituted for bachelors degree.
* The successful candidate would need to be experienced in assessing, designing, development, and deployment of applications within a national network.
* They need to thoroughly understand and have experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
This position will be required to document all aspects of the network design.
* Architects should be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical users after understanding their needs.
* CCNA Route and Switch or higher
* Security + certification or higher
* Palo Alto firewall configuration, operation, and maintenance is a must
* CISCO 7K/9K switch experience
* CISCO VoIP experience (CUBE configuration, basic CUCM configuration and operation)
Preferred
* QoS policy creation
* SD-WAN management
* CISCO VoIP configuration and troubleshooting experience
* CCNA Security/CyberOps
* PCNSE certification
Security:
* All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
* Candidate must be able to acquire a secret clearance.
