Job summary
Growing company with multiple manufacturing locations has an outstanding opportunity available for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant production and manufacturing, ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Lead a focused and effective safety culture. Establish processes that increase product quality and ensure customer on-time delivery. Develop the skills and capabilities of the plant staff and employees, while holding them accountable for their results. Be a leader of change and challenge the status quo. Develop processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. The Plant Manager works directly with department heads to coordinate purchasing, distribution, engineering, finance, and human resources.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technology or Business Management.
* Must have 5-7 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record of developing and leading a safe work culture while managing multiple functions within a plant environment.
* Proven strong leadership, team building, decision-making and people management skills.
* Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
* Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop employees.
* Proven work experience as a Plant Manager (safety, quality, production/assembly, maintenance, environmental compliance).
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral, well organized, able to process large amounts of complex information.
* Able to motivate, coach and develop people in alignment with companies vision and values.
* Strong financial management skills such as analysis, budgeting, planning, etc.
* Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources.
* Computer literacy working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
* ERP experience.
* Mechanical background, with plastics knowledge a plus.
* Plastics processing experience with thermoplastics, injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, polyolefins, compounding, polymers or extrusion would be a plus.
