Responsibilities:
Manages the resources and daily activities of a nursing department while ensuring environmental factors support high standards of patient care. Assists in the training and development of new and existing staff members. Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to learning transfer. Coordinates the activities of the unit for each shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Provides patient care as needed.
Is expected to perform duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization. Responsible for daily operations of Ambulatory, Outpatient Services (OPS), Preop Hold, Pre-Admission Unit (PREP) and Endoscopy Lab to ensure safe procedural intervention for patients of all ages. In collaboration with physician offices and other departments, helps assure timely through-put of Perioperative, Cath Lab, Outpatient and Endoscopy patients. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, TJC and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Responsible for fostering a positive interactive team milieu. Facilitates optimal environment to support orientation, competency validation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of leadership experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience. Magnet Hospital: BSN required.
Licensure:
CA RN, BLS required. ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
